Dances and parties this year are coming up way to soon for my taste. If it were up to me I'd still be longing by the pool with an ice cold drink in hand, oversized glasses and a bunch of magazines. Since stopping time isn't something I've mastered quite yet I decided to get to work on my party outfits. I mean I love school when homework, midterms and AP prep isn't getting in my way. Mostly because I get to buy a bunch of cute new stuff cuz summer maxis just won't cut it in the middle of a thunderstorm. Here is one of my first outfits that works for a party and Homecoming 2009. I love, love, love, the fuchsia color mixed with plaid on this dress. I can totally rock it at Homecoming and then casually show up with it at the after party. I mean let's face it. As much as I adore princess ball gowns; sometimes they can get in the way of, well, movement. This dress is cute but not too cutesy. The black bow is just the perfect touch. I added the leather bomber jacket (yes again!) because it works with everything and its not as prim as a shrug, shawl or bolero. If I wore those I'd totally kill my rocker chick vibe, no? Since the bomber is short it works really well with the dress because I can still show off the bow and the bubble hem. Plus this actually keeps me warm! I love clutches but too be honest I need more than lip gloss so I substituted it with a wallet with 2 compartments for my cash and ID and my gloss, mirror and house keys. I also added a ton of gunmetal bracelets and cute little black shoes that have a bow that matches the dress'. When I finished this look the Something Corporate song totally came to mind "If you could be my punk rock princess, I would be your garage band king."
