Must Read Monday: Hourglass by Myra McEntire

Hourglass by Myra McEntire just hit book stands and kindle stands last week and let me tell I devoured this book. It was such a breath of fresh air because it didn't deal with angels, vampires or werewolves.

What It's About:
Emerson Cole has had some rough moments in her life. While she is lucky enough to have a great home life with her brother and his wife, Emerson continually deals with her feelings about the passing of her parents. Aside from the she suffers from apparitions she thinks are ghosts but they are something else entirely. Her brother, the well intentioned big brother that he is, brings in a consultant to help her with these visions. She decides to give it a shot. Now you may think that she does this out of love for her brother or out of an actual need for a "cure" but really she wants to know what the heck is going on with her and the fact that the consultant is cute doesn't hurt. Aside from the fact that this mysterious guy is cute he is also an enigma himself. He is hiding something as well and the fact that an electric charge seems to run through them whenever they touch just adds to the mystery.

Why You Should Read It:
The mystery of course! This book is definitely different and when you actually find out what's going on with Emerson and Michael you don't get all the answers you're hoping for but the book is amazing nonetheless (it is part of a series after all). There's a love triangle thrown in for good measure but the actual premise of the book is so good you'll find yourself having a hard time putting it down. I love the heroine. Emerson is an independent, feisty and strong young woman. I love books that depict girls as their own hero's and not as the damsel in distress. Definitely pick this book up for the Summer. I guarantee you that you'll finish it before you know and I'm sure you'll love it too!

Let me know if you pick this book up and what you think about it.
