Three Way Thursday: The Denim Skirt

Skirt: $26.90

Who says denim only works on pants? This skirt is the epitome of versatility. I love it's highwaisted look and the denim is beyond soft. As with anything denim the possibilities are endless. Today we settled for our three fav looks.

The first look is perfect for a day outside. It's starting to get a little nippy so you may want to grab a jacket for night time.

The second look is perfect for a day full of classes. Since it is a little cooler I definitely recommend the leggings.

The last look is perfect for a night out. It's simple yet pulled together. I love the pop of red from the clutch!

Inspiration Wednesday: The Giving Tree

Growing up I was a bookworm. To this day I always try to read at least a book a week. It's the only time that I can disconnect from all technology and just give my mind a break. Try it. Nothing refreshes you more than just turning off everything. As a kid there were so many books I loved but one that still pokes my ticker is "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein. I can pick it up any day of the week and it'll still make me cry. It has such a good message that I think as adults we have forgotten about.

So the colors do read a little Christams-y but I think the outfit does a good job of reflecting the book colors no?

Can you tell that we're on a Hills kick? Last week Whitney, this week we're loving Audrina's comfy Cali style.
I love this look and I think that it is perfect for Fall. It's just simple and you can wear it to class, a casual work day or out shopping. I love that it' so unfussy.

Must Watch Monday (technically Tuesday): Ringer

Ringer brings back one of my all time favorite TV actresses, Sarah Michelle Gellar. I was obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer when in was on and up until the last season I was an avid watcher. I was a little disappointed when Angel left but who wasn't right?! Anyway this review isn't about Buffy it's about Sarah's new show.

What It's About:
Ringer is a show about twin sisters. The kicker with this story is that this isn't your normal good twin vs. bad twin story. Siobhan, the wealthy twin and Bridget, the recovering drug addict/former stripper/key eye witness to a crime are actually two sides of the same coin. They both have their secrets from each other but neither one is what you'd consider good. Bridget is making amends for all her past sins and she goes to her sister after running away from the cops because she is afraid of testifying in court. She ends up meeting up with Siobhan at her and her husband's Summer house and Bridget tries to apologize. Siobhan seems to accept her apology for something to do with a little boy as well as her addict ways. I presume the little boy Bridget apologizes about is Siobhan's son or something to that effect but I can't be sure. I mean it's only been two episodes so I can't expect to know all the secrets yet. Anyway, the sisters go on on a boat ride and Siobhan pretends to kill herself. What else can Bridget do but take over her life and pretend to be her dead sister right? Bridget returns to Siobhan's home where her husband and stepdaughter live and well shenanigans ensue.

Why You Should Watch It:
I know I may be getting ahead of myself but the show so far is SO good. I've always loved a good mystery and Ringer is full of them. I mean what are the sister's hiding? What is going on with Siobhan and the affair with her bff's husband? What is Siobhan's husband hiding? There are so many questions and the story is only just beginning. I know it sounds a little complicated but trust me that when you are watching the show it is easy to follow. The question that mainly pops in my head is who is REALLY the bad guy in the show? Everyone has secrets and no one seems to be really innocent. I can't wait to see how this show continues and how the story develops.

What do you think, will you be tuning in to watch the show? Any other shows you can't wait for?

These are a Few of Our Favorite Things...

I came across an article on Jenna Lyons a few days ago and it got me thinking....

Normally this could be dangerous as I have about a thousand ideas a minute and not all of them pan out. Some ideas have even be deemed dangerous by my mom. Let's just say I am no longer allowed near her microwave or her oven unsupervised. What can I say cooking does NOT make sense to me. I mean why can't you just double the heat and cut the baking time in half hmmm???? Baking just doesn't make sense in my opinion but I digress.

In this article about Jenna, one of my fashion idols, the interviewer asked the reason behind "Jenna's Picks," a monthly feature where she singles out non J.Crew items that she loves. Jenna goes on to say that people are looking for a level of integrity from who they do business with. It is silly, not to mention, self-centered, to think that everything is about us. Stores, in my humble opinion, have to realize that they are probably not the end all, be all destination for everything a person needs in their life. Obviously there are things that stores specialize in that make them the go to destination for certain things i.e Sephora for make-up, Bakers for Shoes and Windsor for dresses. ;)

Anywho, we decided that she is absolutely dead on with "Jenna's Picks." Here at Windsor we have the ability to experience and learn about alot of things and we want to pass on the really special things on to you. You see we don't just consider you our customers; we legitimately consider you our friends and what are friends for if not for sharing cool stuff. So think of these posts as a peek into our minds. You'll see what's rocking our world at the moment. I promise this is the most you'll ever have to read in these posts.

1. I am obsessed with this facewash by Kate Somerville. It is a little pricier than my usual Cetaphil but I swear this is the perfect facewash for me. It gets all the grime off and it doesn't dry my skin out in the least. I have absolutely sensitive skin and this isn't harsh at all.

2. I love this nail polish by Sally Hansen. It's been a staple for me in the Summer and the best part about it is that it works just as well in the Fall. Definitely a must buy.

3. I am always in search of the perfect mascara and my usual is a Shu Uemura one but this mascara by Cover Girl is such a steal. It works wonders with my lashes. Personally I prefer the brown to the black for daytime but either color works wonders with my lashes without making them gunky and spidery

4. You know I'm in the office if you smell vanilla or cupcakes. I am notorious for lighting this candle when in
need a quick pick me up.

5. You all know that we love our YouTube girls! We don't just work with anyone and we genuinely consider them all friends. Today we want to give a nice shout out to our style <3 Carly Cristman. Stuck in a fashion rut? Then you better head on over to her channel so she can show you how to be even more fab!

6. We're always scouring the internet and magazines looking for inspiration for the gagillion (yes that's a real number) projects we have going. I am absolutely in love with Matchbook magazine and I just can't get enough of it! Best of all? It's free to read!

7. I can't count the amount of times I forget to have lunch because I am working on something. Vanilla Yo Crunch Yogurts have saved my life more than once. I love the fact that you get a little sugar in the cap.

8. Can you tell we have a sweet tooth? No? Well if you weren't convinced that we are little sugar monsters our 8th fav will quelch any doubts. We are always looking for an excuse to head on over to Bottega Louie for some lunch and some macaroons. "Oh, you finished filing those papers? Time to celebrate with some macaroons!" Ok, I'm kidding with the reason but I am most definitely not kidding about my love of Bottega macaroons.

Fab Fit Friday: Don't Be Such a Couch Potato

T.V. can be such a comforting thing, almost too comfortable it becomes addicting. After long days at work, stressful days at school, or just a sluggish day, the couch becomes the go to place. It requires no movement and no stressful thinking. Your mind goes straight to the television taking in it's emotions, your hands are occupied by the bowl of chips and the remote control, your body is sinking into the cushions and most likely it's where you'll end up falling asleep.

I am not a fan of cold weather and it's easier for me to stay inside cuddle up with a warm cup of tea and watch a movie, and there is nothing wrong with that, but it should be limited to a certain time of the night/day.

If you absolutely can't resist turning on that T.V. then make some changes.

  1. Keep your hands occupied somewhere else! Ditch the remote and skip the snacks.

  • Grab the basket of laundry and start folding.
  • Clear the table and work on a 1000 piece puzzle.
  • Flip through a magazine.
  • Get up and clean something.
  • Lay on the floor and stretch your body.
  • Work on a craft. (Knitting, Drawing, Scrap-booking....etc.)

      2. Instead of going straight for the couch, go straight for the door.

  • Kill stress with a nice long walk.
  • Go out for coffee with a friend and talk about your days.
  • Go walk the shopping mall.
  • Join an activity, club, or sport that will keep you busy and social.

      3. Limit your T.V. time and make it a privilege

  • Choose one of your favorite shows and allow yourself to watch it at that hour, no earlier and no later.
  • Reward yourself with T.V. after a day of staying active and eating healthy.
  • Watch T.V. when you are busy getting ready for something.
  • Make T.V. a bedtime activity.
  • Disconnect your cable and make your T.V. just for movies.

As always don't forget to check out Taralynn's Tumblr for more great fit tips!

Three Way Thursday: The Ivory Chiffon Top

Ivory Top: $22.90

You know I'm often accused of being a cynic but truth be told I tend to border on romantic. At least when it comes to fashion. When I first saw this top I fell in love with it. I knew the possibilities were endless for it.It's one of those basic items that work well in any season. To be honest I don't think that this top was too much of a challenge for S and I because it is such a versatile top. Nonetheless, they never seize to amaze me with their style.

The first look is perfect for the office and uses the top as a make-shift "jacket".

Leopard Top//Skirt//Shoes//Handbag

The second look is totally casual and while I wouldn't exactly enjoy baring my midriff I totally love how they mixed the boots and pants with such a sweet top.

The last look is perfect for the club or for date night. I'm particularly fond of the feather earrings.

Aaaaand just in case ivory isn't your thing. Here is a similar black version. I do believe the black version works just as well with these outfits don't you think?

Blouse: $24.90

On Trend Tuesday: Whitney Port

Via FabSugar
I don't know about you but I miss The Hills. I used to really love the fashion. I loved Lauren's chic California look and I loved the eclectic mix of Whitney's clothes. I always loved the fact that Whitney was able to mix and match trends and still manage to look put together. She manage funky without being crazy. This look is perfect for a casual day out shopping and the leggings are so fun and the print makes them appropriate to wear on their own. Yes, sometimes leggings can be pants.

Must Read Monday: Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park

Amazon: $3.99

What It's About:
Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park is the story of Julie Seagle and her time at the Watkins home. Julie is a recent transplant and after having her college housing fall through she is rescued by her mother's old college roommate, Erin Watkins. After moving in she meets Erin's children, Matt and Celeste and of course the totally crush-worthy Finn. Finn isn't actually home. He is off traveling the world and she only knows of him because it is his room she is staying in. She gets to interact and fall in love with Finn through his Facebook page, his status updates and his conversations.
The thing is the longer that Julie stays at the Watkins house the more she realizes something isn't quite right. Celeste is obsessed with Finn, so much so that she actually lives her live walking around with a life-sized cardboard cut out of Finn. Matt is an reclusive MIT student who is totally sweet and devoted to his sister. After some serious events Julie finally figures out what's been going on in the Watkins home and boy oh boy does it rattle her world.

Why You Should Read It:
This book was quite a pleasant surprise for me. I wasn't expecting alot from it. I don't mean that in a bad way. I mean that I really expected this book to be a "fluffy" book if that makes sense? What I got instead is a great storyline with deep characters. There is so much to each character and I sincerely fell in love with each of them. I love their growth throughout the story and I loved the humor it had. It really was such an easy read and it is definitely a book that will leave you with a pleasant after taste. It's a feel good book that comes from a little bit of sadness. I most definitely recommend it and the price on the Kindle isn't half bad.

If you read it let me know your thoughts. I'd love to hear what you have to say!

Three Way Thursday: The Pink Dress

Melly: $69.90
I'm a girl who loves pink and I am not ashamed to admit it. When I first saw this dress I fell in love and so did alot of you girls! We can't seem to keep it in stock! Since so many of you bought it I thought we'd show at least three different ways to wear it.

The first look is perfect for a trendier and less dressed up date. The leggings are totally cool and they'll keep you warm (yes I know total oxymoron there lol)

The second look is a little more polished and you can wear it to the office. Ok maybe the shoes are a little much but switch them up and you're good to go!

The last look is perfect for a more formal affair (homecoming and wedding girls this one is for you!)

By the way what do you think of that little faux fur stole? Should we convince the buyer to bring it in?

On Trend Tuesday: Nina Dobrev

Well the Vampire Diaries are almost back and we can't wait! We're totally team Dalena. Sorry Stefan but you've got nothing on Damon's eyes. Recently Nina wore this really easy and cute look to a CW party and we just had to recreate it. It's so fun and it totally proves that you can wear white after Labor Day.

What do you think of our Nina look? Don't forget to do the Heidi braids!

What shows are you looking forward to this Fall?

Must Read Monday: Style Diaries: World Fashion from Berlin to Tokyo

Via Amazon
You guys know that I LOVE my Kindle. I think it's the most genius invention since coffee. I have always been a bookworm and much to my parent's chagrin, I have more books than rooms to put them in. The Kindle made it easy to carry a couple of hundred books in my purse. This is most beneficial to my little brother whom I was considering evicting to make room for my books. There are books that I do HAVE to have in it's huge book format. Coffee table books are a horrible vice that I cannot do away with. This Style Diaries book is just one of the books that I had to buy in its original format.

What It's About:
Bloggers! This book is a compilation of quite a few bloggers from around the world! It's not just the ones you already know about. The book does a great job of featuring so many different people. I love the fact that the only consistent them in the book is bloggers. Their styles are totally different but they are so inspirational.

Why You Should Buy It:
The abundance of inspiration! The fashion industry has always had a trickle down effect. Designers and celebs  used to tell us what was hot and what wasn't. Usually what they considered fashionable came at a hefty price. Not anymore, fashion is being dictated by your next door neighbor, your classmate and yes, even your mom. Fashion has become a trickle up phenomenon. Normal people with real budgets are showing high end designers how they should see fashion. There are no rules in fashion anymore. It's all about having fun with what you're wearing and just repping who you are. This book will show you that you can be absolutely fashionable with what you already have in your closet. I definitely recommend this book. I continuously use it for inspiration here in the office and even after flipping through the pages countless times I can still manage to spot something different each time.

Any bloggers that you love that we should take a look at? Who are your favs?

Inspiration Wednesday: Small Wonder

You know I'm quite enjoying revisiting all my old childhood shows for Inspiration Wednesday. It's kinda fun to reminisce about these and remember how utterly funny and unbelievable they were. I mean really, a girl robot? Come on now! The amount of brain space that the lyrics to these shows still occupy is pretty insane. Ah well what can you do?

I love how the colors are so very patriotic don't you?!

Did you watch Small Wonder?
