Mel's Munchies: Not Your Ordinary Rice Krispy Treats!

Here's a spin on a classic! This Easter I made "Rice Krispy Treats" but instead of using Rice Krispies, I used Fruity Pebbles and used plastic Easter eggs to create a fun & festive shape. You can use any mold you like and create Krispy Treats for any occasion! You could even try using Cocoa Pebbles or another yummy cereal. :)

Ingredients: ½ cup unsalted butter or margarine, 8 ½ cups Fruity Pebbles cereal, 1 bag miniature
marshmallows & plastic Easter eggs (about 30).

In a large saucepan, melt ½ cup of butter (1 stick) over low heat. Stir often to ensure it doesn't burn.

Once the butter is melted, add the entire bag of miniature marshmallows. Keep heat on low and stir
often until completely melted and incorporated with the butter.

Measure 8 ½ cups of Fruity Pebbles cereal and pour into melted butter/marshmallow mix. Fold cereal into the mixture until fully coated.

Pop open several Easter eggs and coat each inner egg with a light coat of non-stick cooking spray. I suggest doing it over a sink so you don’t make a mess.

Using a spoon, fill each egg with the cereal mixture. Do not overfill; you won’t be able to close the egg. Once evenly filled, you can close the egg.

This recipe will fill approximately 25-30 eggs (less if you use larger plastic eggs). Set aside and let cool for
at least 2 hours.

Once the eggs have had enough time to cool, open each egg and place into a bowl for serving. If they aren't all eaten right away, you can store the leftover in the refrigerator.

Get creative & enjoy! :)
